Mountain bike camps

Biking for the “fat wheels’ thrill seeker, roadie or triathlete you can find over thousand of the best mountain biking routes in Stellenbosch. Stellenbosch offers exquisite nature reserves and iconic mountains adding the most serene backdrop for any mountain biker. The trails range from moderate single trails to the more technical trails for the most experienced mountain bikers. There is sure to be a trail for all mountain bikers alike. Some of the most favourite trails include:

Eden, Mont Marie, G-spot

The Paradyskloof pine plantation consists of a maze of tracks and trails, ideal for single and downhill track riding. The tracks continue on to the northern side where it links up with the Coetzenburg areas.Dont miss the brilliant downhill opportunities at G-Spot to finish of your ride in the plantation. G-Spot consist of awesome jumps and tight turns to get the adrenaline flowing and now attained international status as one of the best mountain bike single tracks in the world.  This place is an really for the single track rider. We start our ride at BMT bikeshop on Dorpstreet.

Bottelary hills

The Bottelary Hills MTB route runs over 20 farms in the Bottelary Hills Renosterveld Conservancy area just outside Stellenbosch. All the trails are on private land with permission from the landowners, as a result strict rules apply to use of the trails. The trails are varied and appeal to riders of all capabilities. The hallmark of the trails is the scenic beauty and incredible views of the Winelands, Table Mountain, False Bay and other surrounding areas. We will be starting our ride at Jordan on Devon valley Road.

Simons berg

About 60km’s of trails start right outside the Trail Centre on Delvera.

Set on a private farm within the foothills of the Helderberg Mountains (half-way between Somerset West and Stellenbosch), the newly re-done Helderberg Trails prides themselves on providing a trail destination suited to every type of rider, no matter age, skill level, type of bike, or level of fitness. (Even trail runners will love our routes)!

The Helderberg Farm Trail offers superb views over False Bay, Table Mountain and the Stellenbosch vineyards. This in itself should be enough to motivate you to ascend the moderate climbs and zoom thedownhills and flat sections.

Jonkershoek nature reserve which consist of a network of purpose built single track trails connected by forestry contour paths. Favourite sections include the Never-ending stories and Armageddon, 3 levels of single track zig zagging down the mountain.
