Cycling camp

3YO offer’s an Cycling camp to remember. We have planned a packed training week full fun yet hard yards. Cycling will include some of the most scenic rides in the world with views of surrounding mountains and vineyards and traversing mountain passes.

The experience will include Safari drives, fun wine tasting outings and day trip to Cape town. During the training week you will have unlimited access to a high performance gym and an 50 meter outdoor pool. 3YO endeavours to take out the headache of planning your training holiday from transfers to/from the airport and between activities to your accommodation for the week. An unforgettable Cycling training camp whilst you cycle under the African sun.

Day 1 Friday – Airport transfer, check in, short ride, breakfast / lunch

  • Pickup from airport and transfer to Stellenbosch
  • Check-in at accommodation
  • Bike Pick-up (rentals) & Fitting or building of your bike at our partner bike mechanic
  • Late afternoon easy ride 30-40km to nature reserve
  • Arrange gym & pool access
  • Open water swim & Drink at wine farm (optional)

Day 1 – Notes
3YO are able to facilitate bike hire for those clients who prefer not bring their own bikes. A support vehicle and driver will be provided for longer rides and emergency backup car available for all rides. Our partner, BMT can also facilitate any services and repairs.
Longer rides will have: additional drinks, a spare bike, a first aid kit, puncture equipment.

Day 2 Saturday – Long ride, short mountain bike ride

  • Long ride through winelands (90-100 km)
  • Short mountain bike tour (optional 1.5hr)

Day 2 – Notes

Stellenbosch is a university town it has a wonderful variety of small restaurants and cafes in addition to some of the best restaurants in the country. There are many quaint and quirky little eateries and place to explore on foot or by bike and the central area of Stellenbosch is lovely to amble around. Mountain bike rental is included today.

Day 3 Sunday – Long ride in Cape area,

  • Transfer to Cape town
  • Long ride in Cape area (100-110km)

Day 3 – Notes

Today will be an early start, taking in the views of Cape Town’s majestic Table mountain will be every bit worth it.

Day 4 Monday – Sunrise hike , mountain pass ride, massage

  • Sunrise hike / run on mountain (optional)
  • Mountain passes ride (75 – 100 km)
  • Massage

Day 4 – Notes

For those of you chasing Strava KOM/QOMs today is the day to chase the exciting segments of the mountain passes 😉 For a bit of R&R – Massages need to be pre-book, 1 x massage is included in the price for the week. Optional extreme recovery Cryotherapy session at the additional cost can be arranged.

Day 5 Tuesday – Morning ride

  • Wine lands morning ride (80-100 km)
  • Ice bath

Day 5 – Notes
Exploring the Stellenbosch wine lands by bike is the best way to discover the raw beauty of the area. After all the hard yards of the week the complementary ice baths with contrasting hot baths to ensure a jumpstart to the recovery process.

Day 6 Wednesday – 3 passes ride

  • Mountain 3 passes ride (90 km)
  • Cryozone extreme recovery therapy (optional)

Day 6 – Notes
Today’s ride traverse 3 mountain passes. A support vehicle will pick you up today and bring you back to Stellenbosch. Recovery Cryozone therapy can be pre-booked for today (however it is not included in the package price).

Day 7 Thursday – Coastal ride

  • Coastal ride (90-100 km)
  • Safari game drive
  • Wine tasting at wine farm

Day 7 – Notes
A scenic coastal ride today (whether dependend). The last hard bike miles followed by boxing of your bike or return of bike rental. Ending the holiday with a fun safari and wine tasting day out which is the best way to discover the true essence of the great Cape wine-lands. Wine tasting and safari game drive fees are included.

Day 8 Friday – Check out, airport transfer

  • Box bike / return rentals

Day 8 – Notes
Today everyone departs to various destinations. Some people may be using this opportunity to explore South Africa further and others may be heading home. To this end we have facilitated individual transfers for parties of two or more to either Cape Town Airport or to a point in the city. Ensure you notify us 2 days before departure with required transfer time.
