BMT is a small-but-mighty bike shop located under the shadow of oak trees that line the historical Dorp Street in Stellenbosch. The name stands for Bike, Marathon, Triathlon and we set ourselves apart from the rest because at BMT we realise that bicycles are more than just about riding – they are a way of life. Young, old, tall, short, thin, not-so-thin, racer, cruiser, whatever, our only incentive is to make you and your bike happy. An accredited TREK and YETI dealership, they offer a wide selection of mountain, road, triathlon, and hybrid bicycles at price levels to suit your pocket. We also house triathlon-specific equipment, accessories, wetsuits and more. To top it off, BMT is located right next door to the brand-new Casa Cerveza coffee shop and bar so pop in for a coffee, beer or a bite while we fix and clean your ride.
BMT has a wide variety of products. We offer a wide range of bicycle & fitness related products, and their team of highly trained shop assistants are on hand to advise with any questions you may have. They have all the gear you need for biking (road and mountain,) triathlon and running like Trek, Yeti, Bontrager, Garmin, Shimano, SRAM and Oakley as well as proudly South African products like South Industries, Leatt, ass Magic and many more brands in-store! We pride ourselves on supporting local businesses so we try, as far as possible, to stock SA made products.

The mechanics also play a vital role in the quality of the finished product that you purchase and are are continuously uptrained in trends technology and servicing. The workshop area is totally automated ensuring that you have a service history of your bike. Once the job is completed you will receive an sms letting you know that the job is complete. They also have a fetch and delivery service for R50 one-way.
Getting your riding position right with the correct bike geometry and set-up is essential and will not only make your steed a joy to ride but will help avoid cycling injuries that may occur due to unnatural usage and stress.
Let our bike-fit guru and in-house Biokineticist Luan Smit take you under his guidance with a bicycle fitment and pedaling assessment using our SRM indoor trainer. A 45 minute session will involve adjusting and measuring so you have your setup spot on and Luan monitoring stroke to help with power and efficiency as well as injury prevention and recovery. A full report of your session is provided with areas of focus and and strengthening exercises.
The SRM system is an amazing tool as you can also ride any route in the world as long as you have the GPX file. Matt Lombardi has also been known to pop his head in now and again for a play on an XCO track.
